The Team of Peace association organized the third edition of the inter-city basketball tournament called “Play For Peace” on August 18, 2018 at the Place Jean-Paul II in Yamoussoukro. This year’s theme was “Félix Houphouët-Boigny, this sporty man of peace” who is part of the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Year celebrating the 25th anniversary of the death of the father of the Ivorian Nation and instituted by the foundation that bears his name.
Ibrahim TRAORE, President of Team Of Peace, was the first to take the floor to thank all the authorities present and the young people who participated in this event that celebrates peace through sport. Following him, Pr. Jean-Noël LOUCOU, Secretary General of the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Foundation for the Search for Peace did not fail to recall the achievements of “the wise man of Africa” in favor of sport in general and Basketball in particular. The first Secretary General of Yamoussoukro Prefecture, Mr. Yaya COULIBALY, gave the usual advice to competitors in 12 teams from Abidjan, Bouaké, Daloa and Yamoussoukro. PLAY For Peace 2018 ended with the victory of the “Samurai” team from Abidjan.
