University Community Trained in Culture of Peace

The Félix Houphouët-Boigny Foundation for Peace Research (FHB Foundation) hosted a training seminar for a colony of student organizations from March 10 to 12, 2021 in Yamoussoukro. This opportunity was created by the Club of Icons of Peace (IP) of the University Nangui Abrogoua to promote the culture of peace in the university environment. It is the second of its kind in partnership with the FHB Foundation and other student structures such as the JEC (Jeunesse Estudiantine Catholique), the AEEMCI (Association des Elèves et Etudiants Musulmans de Côte d’Ivoire), the REPCI (Réseau des Etudiants pour la Paix en Côte d’Ivoire), the Club de Paix de l’Université Jean Lorougnon Guédé de Daloa and the Maison de l’Etudiantin or the Conseil Estudiantin de l’Université Nangui Abrogoua.

Commemorative Day for the Birth of President Félix Houphouet-Boigny

The Félix Houphouët-Boigny Foundation for Peace Research asks you to honor with your presence the day commemorating the birth of President Félix Houphouët-Boigny on October 18, 2020, according to the following program:

9:00 am: Thanksgiving Mass in the Saint Augustin Cathedral of Yamoussoukro

4:00 pm: Dedication ceremony of the Acts of the Colloquium on the Peace Work of Félix Houphouët-Boigny at the Foundation’s Bookshop.

Celebration of the International Day of Peace 2020

Celebrated by the UNESCO Office in Abidjan and the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Foundation for Peace Research (FHB Foundation) on Monday, September 21, 2020, the International Day of Peace had as its theme: “Shaping Peace Together: Today and Tomorrow with Youth”.

To the many young people who came from all regions of Côte d’Ivoire, Pr. Adama DIAWARA, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research representing the Prime Minister Mr. Hamed BAKAYOKO, asked to avoid being used as sofas by some politicians during his speech. “We must promote values, behaviors and attitudes that contribute to the construction of peaceful and inclusive societies” he recommended. He also called for the civic spirit of Ivorians to create a peaceful electoral environment. “The presidential election should not be a vector of tension, but rather a privileged way to maintain and strengthen social peace,” he advised.

200 Women Leaders of the Department of Gagnoa Trained in the Culture of Peace, Civism and Non-Violence

On Wednesday, July 22, 2020, 200 women leaders from the department of Gagnoa benefited from a training workshop on the culture of peace, civic-mindedness and non-violence during elections.

This training, provided by two experts from the Houphouët-Boigny Foundation for Peace Research (FHB Foundation), aimed to build the capacity of leaders of women’s associations for the promotion of peace through the respect of civic values and non-violence.
