The Félix Houphouët-Boigny Foundation for Peace Research organized a training seminar for members of the Students 'Delegates' School Board (CSDE), clubs and associations of the Mixed 1 and Mixte 2 Schools of Yamoussoukro On "Education for a Culture of Peace, Non-Violence and the Rights of the Child", held on May 26, 2016 in Yamoussoukro. Two speeches marked the opening ceremony.

Teachers trained in the Culture of Peace

The Fondation Félix Houphouët-Boigny for Peace Research organized a training seminar for teachers, management and supervisory staff of the Lycée Mixte 1 in Yamoussoukro on the theme: "Education for culture Peace, Non-Violence and the Rights of the Child "held on May 25, 2016 in Yamoussoukro. At the opening ceremony, Mr. Siaka Koné, headmaster of the Yamoussoukro Mixed School 1, presented the interest and the opportunity of such an initiative and hoped that this training could benefit the teachers present.

Visit by Ambassador Bruno Joubert

On April 24, 2016 in Yamoussoukro, the Secretary-General of the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Foundation for Peace Research was visited by Ambassador Bruno Joubert, at the headquarters of the institution he headed. After the usual civilities, the French diplomat, accompanied by two of his collaborators, was able to discover the main tourist areas of our headquarters, including: conference rooms, exhibition space and the lounge of honor.

The visit of the UNESCO Deputy Director-General

On Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at our headquarters in Yamoussoukro, our institution was visited by the Deputy Director General of the UN Organization for Education, Science and Culture (UNESCO): Mr Engida Getachew, accompanied by the Resident Representative Organization in Côte d'Ivoire: Dr Yao Ydo. This visit was led by the Secretary General of the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Foundation  for Peace Pesearch.

Communication to the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire of 27 January 2016 on the financing of the feasibility study for the Panafrican School of Peace to be set up in Côte d'Ivoire:

The Council authorized the exceptional release of US $ 35,000 as a contribution from our country for the feasibility study of the Pan-African Peace School project. This high-level center, under the auspices of the African Union and UNESCO, will be set up and located within the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Foundation for Peace Research in Yamoussoukro.

New Year’s Greetings 2016 Ceremony

On January 12, 2016, at the headquarters of the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Foundation for Peace Research in Yamoussoukro, the ceremony for the presentation of new year's greetings to the Secretary General. All the officers, headed by Mariam Koulibaly and Doctor Diénéba Doumbia, wished a warm and happy 2016 to Professor Jean-Noël Loucou.

Technical meeting on the project to establish a Panafrican Peace School

Following the decision of the African Union No. Assembly / dec.558 (XXIV) item G: 22 (II) requesting the African Union Commission to study with UNESCO and the Government of Côte d'Ivoire The possibility of establishing a school for peace, the representatives of the above-mentioned institutions and the FHB Foundation held a technical meeting on this project on May 21-22, 2015 in Abidjan.

The purpose of the meeting was to:

  • Prepare for the establishment of a school dedicated to the culture of peace;
  • Develop an action plan and funding plan;
  • Prepare for the launch of project activities.
